Our Story - a Brief Introduction & Overview
Owner and buyer Diana Day has always had a keen eye for fashion. As a teenager in London, she launched her own painted chiffon clothing line, which was sold to luxury department stores from Harrods to Fred Hayman Beverly Hills. Diana also designed the stage clothes for the lead singer of the progressive rock band Yes. She learned the ins and outs of the fashion world as the house model and personal assistant to the bold Thea Porter.
In the early '80s, Diana traveled to America and found her home among the palm trees of Los Angeles. She purchased Encore in 1995 and has been thriving ever since. Her dedication to beautiful clothing and superior customer service has made Encore a Malibu destination. While Encore originally started as a formal dress shop, it has over the years evolved into a high-end loungewear shop for the entire family. Encore is now most known for its hand-dyed hoodies and sweats made right here in Los Angeles.
